There are flowers that blossom throughout the year. Those flowers bring natural beauty all year round whether indoors, or in the greenhouse, or in your garden. Flowers are without a doubt a gorgeous addition to any place no matter what time of the year. There are many varieties to choose from depending on your region.
One of the plants that have flowers the whole year is the Cestrum. This flowering plant belongs to the family of Solanaceae. It has fragrant pink flowers which also happen to be toxic. The Cestrum is usually found in places where the temperature is warm like: the tropics, southernmost parts of the United States (for example Florida and Texas ) and central Chile .
The African Jasmine or Perfume Jasmine also blooms through the year. It has delicate, star-shaped, white flowers that have citrus scent. This plant can survive temperatures up to as low as 25 degrees Fahrenheit.
Another beauty that flourishes through all the months of the year is the Lilac Hibiscus. It has large purple flowers. The Lilac Hibiscus prefers to live in temperate and sandy coastal plains. It is best to place this plant in a pot because it does not like the rain.
The Morning Glory also survives all the seasons. It has large blue blossoms that lasts for a morning and then curls and dies in the afternoon, only for new flowers to bloom the next day. This plant prefers sunny places and moist soils.
Throughout the year the Himalayan Butterfly Bush graces the garden with its flowers. It has lavender flowers that have a fragrant scent. The Himalayan Butterfly Bush thrives in slopes with boulders, thickets, dry river bottoms and exposed cliffs.
The Kaneohe Gold is another type of plant that produces flowers the whole year through. It has small, five-petaled flowers that are colored golden yellow. This plant can live near the ocean, in drier areas in sandy soils. The Kaneohe Gold can survive temperatures up to as low as 25 degrees Fahrenheit.
Another possible choice for year-long blooms is the Columnea. Its flowers have an odd shape and are usually large and are colored either orange, or yellow, or red. This is a tropical plant and is very easy to grow indoor or in a greenhouse.
The Lipstick Plant is a viable option too to have flowers through the seasons. Its blossoms are tube-shaped and are brightly colored. The Lipstick Plant prefers humid and warm living conditions.
Ginny, a type of Begonia, also grows flowers all year long. It has small flowers that are either light pink or dark pink in color. This plant needs filtered light and moist soil. It also likes humid places and it does not like cold weather.
There are a lot of flowers that bloom all throughout the year if they are provided with the correct amount of sunlight and water. The temperature must be ideal for them, as well. Whichever of these plants you decide to cultivate, remember to research more about their needs in order for them to bloom bountifully.
